My name is Jennifer Hampton and I live
on a 5 acre ranch in Michigan. I found my first Australian Shepherd at the Humane
Society in the early 80's. This dog was placed in the shelter
because she chased the neighbors sheep. She was a wonderful girl and
about the smartest dog I had ever been around. I didn't get to keep
her long but in the short time I had her she had me hooked on the
breed.

Trails' Australian Shepherd breeding program is based on producing beautiful sound dogs both mentally and physically. I may breed one to two
litters a year. I look for great temperaments and healthy bloodlines to produce quality, not quantity. All
of our breeding dogs have OFA hip ratings and their eyes are cleared
annually by a canine Ophthalmologist. Happy Trails Australian Shepherds puppies are born
and raised in our home and not in a kennel. Puppies are handled
daily and are exposed to different people, animals and strange
noises, this helps in getting well adjusted puppies. I like to
screen potential buyers to make sure the puppy is right for the
buyer and the buyer is right for the puppy. Raising a dog is a life
time commitment. All puppies are sent to their new home with current
shots, wormed and with vaccination schedule. All our puppies will be
examined by a canine ophthalmologist for inherited eye defects
before placement in their new homes.
I love my
dogs and enjoy their company. My dogs are willing to do
anything I ask of them, including long days at dog shows or coming
to
work with me and sleeping under my desk.
